BREAK-A-WAY NEWS

RRS supported USSA and Winter Park during the US Alpine National Championships by providing 200 Break-A-Way slalom poles with Featherbases. After 6 races, only 3 shafts were reported broken. Many of these poles had been used at NOR AM races throughout the season at Loveland and Sunday River, and 2 Eastern Cup slaloms at Waterville Valley. The Featherbase did an amazing job during the slalom events, with 5 poles having to be reset in soft conditions during the 4 runs of slalom with high-level fields. John Jacobs was on hand to support the race crew and observe. After the last race, all 200 poles were divided up and bought by the Vail race department, CU and Winter Park.

Break-A-Way is the featured slalom pole at a gigantic national ski school on-snow festival being held in France next week. Wes Bishop and Tim Mullen of RRS will be there to support the event. Break-A-Way is starting to take Europe by storm, especially in Scandinavia where coaches and ROCs are taking notice of BAW’s shaft durability in extreme cold and firm conditions. BAW with Featherbase were used at both the Swedish and Norwegian national championships this year, and performed extremely well at both sites.

Training Mode for Minitimer HL440

New upgrade is now available for the Minitimer HL440!

Faithful to our commitment to enhance the capabilities of our products and provide a better service to our customers, TAG Heuer Timing is pleased to announce the new configuration "TRAINING" which can now be incorporated into the HL 440 Minitimer.

This configuration is ideal for all training session of high level, such as skiing, athletics, equestrian races as well as cycling sports.

Thanks to this new method of timing that allows for programmable “arrival windows,” it is now possible to capture and measure times with automatic competitor identification for up to two intermediate times as well as the finish.

At any time, it is possible to view a Ranking of the best times of the participants in the training session (identified by bib number), or a Listing all of the times of any participant during the training session (including split times).

Transmitted through the HL 670 in data mode, all timing information from the training session can also be sent directly to additional MiniTimers for multiple viewing opportunities at the start and finish, or by the coach. Data can also be shared with a Chronoprinter 540 as the “master” timer.

Other powerful options include direct connection with the HL 970 LED matrix display, or to the HL200 Martel Printer for hard copy results and listings.
